Oana has more than 10 years of psycho-oncology research experience and is currently working on two projects. She is evaluating the Shared Community Follow-up Service for Germ Cell Tumour Survivors – a project which implements risk-stratified follow-up for cancer survivors in usual care, enhanced by the use of online patient-reported outcome measures. She is also a research fellow on the ePRIME – electronic Patient self-Reported outcomes to Improve cancer Management and patient Experiences – a project aimed at developing and testing new remote care pathways and the use of online patient-reported outcomes monitoring in ovarian cancer and early phase clinical trials.

Prior to working on this project, Oana was a Research Associate at the University of Manchester – Institute of Cancer Sciences. Her Medical Research Council-funded PhD in the University of Manchester (UoM) – School of Psychological Sciences focused on Chemotherapy-induced cognitive changes in working age adult cancer patients. For the past four years, she has also been a teaching assistant on the UoM Psychology Undergraduate course.

Before working in the UK, Oana undertook two Master’s programmes in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and Human Resources and Managerial Communications, and has worked on several research projects as a Junior Researcher in the Romanian Health Psychology Association.
